Michelle Baker

Michelle Baker is a bachelor’s prepared registered nurse with 36 years of experience. Early in her career, she worked in an acute hospital setting in oncology and orthopedics. She obtained her Certification for Rehabilitation Registered Nurses (CRRN) in 1994 while working as a Director of Nurses in a 234-bed subacute rehabilitation facility. She later served as the Director of Rehabilitation of a 40-bed subacute rehabilitation unit. Michelle has been in case management for over 27 years and obtained her Certification for Case Management (CCM) in 2000. Through her work in the field, Michelle facilitated the medical care and treatment of catastrophically injured workers to reach optimal outcomes from 1998 through 2011. Michelle currently serves as a director providing Network and preceptor oversight as Senior Director, Clinical Network Operations at Paradigm. Michelle is responsible for the oversight of recruiting, training, development, and supervision of the Network Managers. She plays an integral part of the Network Services team, by working closely with team leaders to address ongoing improvement and quality initiatives for the network. She serves as an internal system user consultant for clinical software development and upgrades, in addition to participating in network security efforts as it pertains to clinical documentation. Michelle’s role includes responsibility and oversight of the preparation and execution of the Paradigm’s national meeting for close to 500 participants.
Ms. Baker has served in the Maryland Workman’s Compensation community as a Worker’s Compensation Case Manager (WCCM) since 1999 and currently sits on the Maryland Workers Compensation Advisory Committee on registration of Rehabilitation Practitioners. She has presented for local and national organizations on various Catastrophic Case Management and Ethics topics, as well as authored and contributed to multiple published industry articles related to workers compensation and field case management. She has also been a volunteer for Commission for Case Managers (CCMC) serving in multiple capacities since 2008.
Michelle has been with Paradigm since 1998.
