Biography

Dr. Hinds is a board-certified neurologist and nuclear medicine and molecular imaging physician. A retired United States Army officer, he brings over three decades of experience in military medicine to his current roles. Dr. Hinds serves as the Medical Director for the Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA) and acts as Co-Principal Investigator and lead for external collaborations within the Long-term Impact of Military-relevant Brain Injury Consortium-Chronic Effects of Neurotrauma Consortium (LIMBIC-CENC).

Previously, he held positions as Deputy Medical Director and Chief Health Equity Officer for the National Football League Players Association, as well as Vice President for Brain Health Strategy and Research at Wounded Warrior Project, overseeing initiatives such as the Independence Program, Warrior Care Network, and Complex Case Coordination services. During his final assignment on active duty, Dr. Hinds served as the Department of Defense Brain Health Research Coordinator for the DoD Blast Injury Research Coordinating Office and Medical Advisor to the Principal Assistant for Research and Technology, Medical Research and Materiel Command, at Fort Detrick, Maryland. He also served as the National Director of the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC).

Dr. Hinds is an alumnus of the United States Military Academy at West Point and received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut.
